State Water Facilities Plan (SWP)

The State Water Facilities Plan is intended to implement state policy on water resources management, to serve as the principal guide for state policies and priorities, and to identify areas for project assistance. It is a listing of potential projects such as rural, municipal, and industrial water supply, wastewater facilities, storm sewers, and watershed restoration.

Placement on the plan is a requirement prior to receiving funding from the Consolidated Water Facilities Construction Program, Clean Water SRF, and Drinking Water SRF Programs. However, placement on the State Water Plan provides no guarantee of funding.

Applications are reviewed by the staff of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The Board of Water and Natural Resources is responsible for approving the actual placement of projects onto the State Water Facilities Plan.

Deadline:

October 1

Amendment Deadlines:

1st of February, May and August
